Addicted to a lap

I was being laid back today. What I mean about being one is that I was a complete imbecile. No. Scratch that! I was just lounging around all day. I wasn’t at my best to do some work really. Like usual, you know. Call me slacker, lazy, what have you. I did get up earlier than usual though to refresh my spiritual obligation which I have been so passive about because of my toddler. Anyway, I’d rather not talk about religion but just a thing to share that I accomplished today. Will someone kick me out of my laptop? This thing is the culprit of such slack! Hahaha.

Travel deals

If only I had a really pleasant travel experience the last time I went to my homeland for a vacation with my little one, I would be very happy to take advantage of the rather attractive travel deals that are being offered these days. I guess due to this economic situation, plane tickets go on sale so people could still travel without having to worry too much about the expense.

A penny saved is a penny earned as the saying goes. Too bad, that last trip of mine was traumatic. I am not due for another one until my son is going to be big enough to understand what a 30-hour plane ride means. With the terrible two’s at the moment, I don’t think I can handle a grueling-back-breaking trip like that once again. I can absolutely wait!

Rainy summer

It’s been muggy, rainy and stormy since the first day of summer started. I am not a weatherman but it sure feels like this is more of a wet season than a sunny one. I don’t despise it though. Rain is good for the greeneries, but I’m sure a lot of people say they had enough of this weather and not being able to flaunt their summer wardrobe just yet. Anyway, I can’t complain because I don’t really get out a lot. I wish I do.

Good eater: Picky eater

My little one is a picky eater. Like most toddlers are, he likes to eat the same things over and over. Just like his breakfast, he can live with strawberry and hardboiled egg which white he only eats. I usually throw away the yolk. As long as he is content with them and eats well, I can take it. Sometimes he doesn’t touch the mini muffins I put on his plate though which I serve every breakfast. At lunchtime he likes cheese, chicken nuggets (a little bit), and some cucumber slices. At dinner, I can settle with pasta and he is all smiles.

I reward him with a dessert he loves dearly after he finishes his dinner – cookie dough ice cream. Only he doesn’t want to do anything with the cookie dough balls. He eats the cream and the chocolate chips off of it. He doesn’t like any other flavors. Cool, eh? Picky that is! Wishing and hoping as a mom that as he gets older he will begin to like and explore other food varieties. No problem about dieting for me though I pretty much eat anything. I don’t think he would eat anything bad like I sometimes do so no worries about copying mommy or daddy. Phenphedrine might be a good thing to get, well, for those who are trying to lose weight!

I can now say I’ve fallen for J.Crew. Well, the prices put me off in the beginning but like most stores online, they have the SALE tab as well which makes it easier for someone who likes to save a little while enjoying the bliss of shopping without having to pay full price. Although, you have to be really quick at getting that something that caught your eye once it goes on sale or someone else will beat you to it. That really goes to show how much I hate to drive to the store and any mall because I can’t simply decide what I wanted to get especially when I don’t have that purpose.

It’s got to be catchy for me to like something in particular and the urge to have it makes me sleepless at night. No, really. Hahaha. Anyway, I wish I could afford everything I have been eyeing on their summer stuff. I am happy enough to have finally found the kind of clothes I find sophisticated at the same time effortless to put on. Enough said. I have to do something productive today for someone who wants to get one of those diet pills with ephedra. Ciao for now, folks!

Yet another year older

Gosh, time flies. I will be another year older on the 22nd. I cannot believe it! I’m really getting close to the age that is not included on the calendar only few years from now. Anyway, I would like to thank my dear friend for sending me an advance gift. A gift card to a clothing store I’m beginning to love since the first time I got hold of one (a gift card also) given by a family member last Christmas. I thought it would be nice to collect stuff from this store through presents since I love looking at their line. I’ve been eyeing on a pair of summer sandals but the price is just overwhelming. The gift card will definitely fund half of it if I decide to get that pair.

And also, I should not forget to thank my hubby’s sister and her daughter for giving me an early present last month when we last saw them at hubby’s birthday party. We don’t get to see them too often so they took the chance to get me something in advance to hand me in person. They are a matching costume necklace and bracelet/bangle which I find very essential to a wardrobe. Now I just have to wish for a special occasion for me to wear them with a nice outfit. May this year be another healthy and happy one.

Living in a country with four seasons drives me nuts when it comes to clothing. Dressing up accordingly is making me dizzy. I don’t want to follow fashion but I can’t avoid the fad. I think wholesale clothing would be a great way to go if you only care about comfort and saving money especially during this economic situation.

Talking about saving, I really love shopping at a sale rack. That way I don’t feel so guilty about buying something on a full price since sooner or later it will eventually be marked down. Be a wise shopper at all times especially when it comes to clothes and shoes.

Cleaning up kitchen floor

I recently mopped our kitchen floor. They are vinyl tiles. I would love ceramic tiles on kitchen floors though like most houses do. I really like those houses in FL that has them on their kitchen floors if not the entire house. If I were to design a house that would be ideal especially in warmer places.

Back in my hometown, my parents house have ceramic tile floor which makes it easier to clean. Carpeted floors are a pain especially when you have pets and kids. Steamvac does the job though back breaking sometimes. They do help comes winter to keep you warmer thus, saving energy and money. What kind of flooring do you like best? I like hardwood too.

I don’t seem to get hungry as much when I am alone. I like to eat better when I have company. At least that’s what I noticed. I tend to eat little when I have no one to talk to on the table or compete with the meal for that matter. LOL! I don’t know why but that happens a lot in some people. Kids do that too. They enjoy the company of other kids when they eat, but that’s not the case with my boy. He tends to not eat well when there are other kids or adults like in a party he gets overwhelmed and ignore food altogether.

Frequent smackers

Recently, we decided to make changes on our customer loyalty card at our business. It seems that someone is trying to cheat us. But, we could be wrong. We just wanted to make sure that will not happen again if it did happen before without noticing it.

Anyway, we thought of getting one of those rubber stamps to mark the card with the appropriate date and signature but they don’t come in really small ones and the card as small as a ‘business card’ has 8 slots so signing it with initials and date would be the easiest way. We could easily tell if it’s forged or not. I don’t think someone would dare re-produce the card the way I did it originally either. We can easily tell if something looks funny about it.
