I have recently updated my Wordpress to the latest version. I like the improvements and additional features that are actually useful. Some people do complain and have some sort of fear when it comes to upgrading. They are afraid they’ll lose all their work and the files or mess up the whole procedure. I am lucky to have found the fastest and easiest way to do it and thank goodness, for some people who have shared their knowledge on making this thing a bit easier despite the complicated issues regarding it. Anyway, if you haven’t updated yours to Wordpress 2.5 just yet, may I suggest doing it my way? If your web host’s Fantastico have the latest and hottest one, you may not need this otherwise I hope I could help you.

1. If you haven’t uploaded a Backup plugin to your server already, do it now.
2. Upload the InstantUpgrade plugin too.
3. Go to your WP Dashboard >Plugins, then activate both plugins you just uploaded and extracted in your server.
4. After the activation of both plugins, go to Manage>Backup. Select the tables that you want to save in your computer. Backup!
5. When the backups are all through, click InstantUpgrade tab. If you want to avoid the configuration of FTP, choose HTTP instead on how you would want the upgrade to perform and you should be ready for upgrade.
6. Choose - The latest and greatest, please or type in Version 2.5 on the space provided.
7. Upgrade my WordPress! You should see Version 2.5 on your Dashboard’s footnote.
