For some reason, I wasn’t able to post my update on the 4th day of weaning my toddler on the day itself so I will be doing it the next day from now on. We had to go out to do some errands and as part of the said process, I wanted to keep my boy busy all day in order for him to divert his attention and eventually forget about nursing. We did go out of the house and took a ride for at least 45 minutes to our destination. I intended to do that so he could take his nap while the car was moving so he doesn’t get groggy at the end of the day without the comfort of nursing when he needs his nap. In short, he didn’t nurse all day yesterday. He is becoming a good drinker though when milk and fruit juice is combined. It’s amazing that he can tip his “sippy cup” to drink already and had it all figured. I gave him some yogurt and cookies while we were out.

Night time came and we were home. I gave him his dinner and refused to eat. It wasn’t his favorite (pizza) and ‘twas the first time I have introduced it to him. He probably knows it’s not good for him. LOL! He got a little fussy and wanted to go to bed. I knew what he wanted and again refused it. I made him cry and I felt really bad. Terrible! As protective as I am as a mother, I made my boy cry hard for the purpose of weaning. It’s for the good of both of us and I wanted to pursue this mission. The neighbors must have been wondering what the heck happen to this boy and thought of calling the cops, BUT that didn’t happen at all. LOL! Thank goodness. They shouldn’t be surprise since it wasn’t the first time.

The hubby finally gave up his television while listening to the wailing and sobbing of his son and took him out of the bedroom. He didn’t say anything. After a little while he made him calm down and brought him back to bed. Our boy fell asleep from all that crying all of a sudden. I didn’t mean it to end that way. Sure, it was another nursing time eliminated but the boy was a bit traumatized. To make up for it, I hugged him in his sleep and nursed him a couple of times later that night so my milk supply will at least be consumed and avoid engorgement. Little by little when he will only be nursing the least, the milk will also slow down to the point of completely going when he is all weaned and hopefully by that time, my boy will take in more cow’s milk.

How old is your boy? :-) I understood from the text, that he might be too small for pizza :-) And he drinks milk with juice? :-D now that would be a “deadly” combination for most of us grown-ups :-) Good luck with your little boy :-)

    Hi Susan,

My boy is 16 months old. IS he too small for pizza? Oh, I forgot to mention, it’s a veggie pizza with broccoli in it, but he took the one I had with sausage a bite. He likes milk with Gerber’s fruit juice (not grownups OJ  ) as what his pediatrician suggested since he doesn’t take in JUST cow’s milk. Now, if that sounded “deadly”, I should go back to the doctor and tell him to get another job, shouldn’t he? Thanks for stopping by. btw! It’s a pleasure to get a comment on my post. I don’t get it very often.
