We had spaghetti for dinner tonight. Boy, Casey can eat! He was a hungry little guy. Pastas are the easiest and fastest to prepare for dinners especially when you don’t have all night to work in the kitchen. So long as you have a pasta sauce in a jar and a bag or package of turkey or pork and beef meatballs you’re good to go. Pasta won’t cost you a lot of money too besides the convenience in preparing it.
They are ideal for moms with demanding toddlers like me. Anyway, as I have said Casey ate like I never fed him all day. He is a big fan of pasta. He can eat it everyday. Whether it’s spaghetti, ravioli, you name it, he will never refuse it. It must be the Italian blood in him. I’m sure at his age it’s one of those surprising changes. Later on, he might hate it. I hope not!

I can’t believe how long Casey napped today. It was kind of later than his usual schedule, but he must have been exhausted from all that play and needed a long rest so bad he snoozed for 3 hours. He woke up once to check on me after an hour and then went back to sleep without a problem so quickly. It’s the first time and I was really amazed how this boy loves his naps already. It used to be tough to get him on a schedule. Oh well, he is such a good one at this now. He is getting so big and his appetite is also improving except for cow’s milk. I still have to work on that.

I bet golf enthusiasts are now jumping for joy. It’s that time of year once again when Tiger Woods and the gang are going to be the talk of the “golfing towns” so to speak. Speaking of which, he will be undergoing on a knee surgery I’ve been told. Well, I’m sure his fans are going to miss him a bit. He will be back on the course before we know it and will always want to win. By the way, Titleist golf is my first choice of name if given a chance to pick my own set of clubs if I were a pro – in my dreams that is!

Casey is napping in the past hour after giving him a bath. He was playing like a baby crawling on a dusty porch today. While the hubby is out to do some errands, I get to have a quiet “me time” - of course, not for very long. In another hour or so, Casey will be up and bug me for playtime or snacks. Anyway, in times like these all I want to do is either be in front of the computer surfing or watch a movie and eat. I simply couldn’t find something more interesting to do (especially not the chores). LOL! I don’t even think I can read The Appeal by John Grisham when laziness strikes. Oh well, maybe I can if I’m paid to.

Most of the time, I struggle when it comes to feeding my toddler. I find it rather difficult to give him the right food. He will be 16 months old on the 28th and he’s in the stage in which his appetite surprises the hubby and me from time to time. He likes one food one day and dislikes it the next. I know it’s common to kids and I don’t get alarmed by this concern. I just wanted to make sure I give him the foods that are appropriate for his age if not the healthy kind. So, I keep on searching online to get an idea or a guide so I won’t find it all that stressful when thinking about what to give him to eat the next mealtime. I found these sample meal ideas for toddlers and I hope to have this as an inspiration. I’m sure this will help other moms too.
This meal plan is a good example of what–and how much–to feed a child who is between one and three years old. For an estimate of how large a serving should be, a useful rule of thumb is to give one tablespoon of each food for every year of your child’s age.

Before I came to the US, I didn’t have an idea Americans love waterfront homes. It’s the ultimate dream for many to live in one of the waterfront communities in the country. Wherever there is a body of water such as lakes, oceans, beaches and even man-made ponds or lakes they come really attractive to build a home close by. The hubby’s friend lives in one and to think that an artificial lake is what they only have just outside their backyard gives them the calming relief of view once they get out there, how much more when it’s a real big lake with everything that nature offers best. Smith Mountain Lake Real Estate offers this type of opportunity for those who are looking for high class gated waterfront communities.
The hubby is actually looking into it for our future. Perhaps, one day we will be moving into one. I can only dream for now! On a brighter side, a peaceful natural setting like Smith Mountain Lake Real Estate brings for those who wanted to find their perfect abode in southwestern Virginia is now open for prospect property buyers. Not only is this community meticulously planned and designed, living in a waterfront home with all its magnificent scenic views will bring you the most of their top-notched amenities to its fullest glory. Yesterday, while I was leisurely switching from channel to channel on our TV, I stumbled on the movie Stranger than Fiction and got interested because I saw Will Ferrell’s face on the screen. He’s one of my favorite comedian actors and this movie caught my attention. I found the whole story to be interesting. It’s not something where you can laugh a lot as what most of Will’s roles are in his movies which makes it even stranger than usual. LOL! It’s definitely a must see though! Here’s a plot summary of the movie to give you an idea.

When I hear about colon cleansing it reminds me of one of the hubby’s golf students. He had his colon cleansed last year and I had no clue you can actually get out of the clinic right away and play your favorite game afterwards. So, he scheduled a golf lesson that day just few hours after his colon cleansing. Anyway, Dual-Action Cleanse is supposed to be a good colon cleanse formula if you are looking for one. I think we all need this kind of cleansing process in order to get rid of the toxins that are accumulated in our digestive system. This is an important health practice to maintain the balance in our bodies and doctors do recommend that.

It’s amazing how human beings learn. As a first time mom, I can see how fast my son Casey is growing. I must say I sometimes miss those days when he was only an infant. Now that he is learning something new each day, it’s even more interesting to find out and see how much more he will develop in the days to come. When he was a baby, I used to say that I wish he is bigger now or that he is old enough to be told what to do and what not to do. Then now that he is becoming a handful, I can only reminisce those days when he was tiny and sleeping most of the time. He wasn’t all over the place. LOL! By the way, I got a kick out of this definition of a toddler I found online. I just wanted to share how fun a read this is.
What is a Toddler?
We think it is important to define what a Toddler is and what ages are reflected in this website: The American Heritage Dictionary defines a Toddler as:
-
One who toddles, especially a young child learning to walk.
-
A size of clothing for children between the ages of about one and three years.
We like to define a toddler as:
- A child who is between the age of 12 months and 48 months old (1 year and 4 years old)
- One who loves to eat <xyz> food one day and then dislikes that very same <xyz> food the next day
- One who requires a lot of clean laundry, tidying-up after, and lots of attention, and constant amusement and stimulation
- One who is methodical and focused in his or her attempts at launching a spoonful of mashed potatoes as easily as a robotic arm assembles a car!
- One who’s innocence and wonder inspires us to do better
- One who possesses an abundance of love.
- One who is unconditional in the giving, and delightful in the receiving of that love, along with showering hugs, kisses and smiles to those around him or her;
- a true joy and a true blessing to treasure
