Princess of the Stars Tragedy
Posted on Jun 25, 2008 under News and Media |
Yesterday morning, the hubby told me about what he read on the paper regarding the Philippines. He asked me if I knew that a ferry traveling between Manila and Cebu capsized with about 800 passengers in it. I read the paper to find out the rest of the story. I feel bad for the families of those that are still in the ship and have not been recovered as of that day.
It was too bad that whoever was authorized to let ferries like the MV Princess of the Stars travel on a stormy weather didn’t give it good thought. They actually let it sail in the middle of a typhoon and now many lives are taken away of such tragedy. Yes, we may have no control over natural calamities, but a terrible thing that just happened could have been avoided if only authorities did their job responsibly. They should have known better.

This is a very sad situation. My prayers go out to the families of the lost.
Hopefully nothing like this happens closer to home. We have a Ferry that goes from our town on Long Island to Connecticut. Thankfully we don’t get hurricanes this far north.
