I am one step closer to getting my…

…driver’s license. Yes, that’s true! Yesterday, we finally did what we’ve been putting off for a couple of years now since I came in this country. I took the eye test and the law test in acquiring a license to drive. Well, I took similar test when we used to live in NY and passed it the first time I took it. I had taken my first driving lessons and classroom instruction at the time and am proud to have acquired a learner’s permit.

I just didn’t make it on my road test as I was too nervous and what a shame it was to have not passed it because I forgot the very first thing everyone should take into account before starting the engine. I forgot to put on my seat belt! LOL! Well, it was a shame for me as I was 8 months pregnant during my road test and the evaluator took notice that I should be careful for the baby inside me. And, whoooaah! The hormones, baby! It made me cry as soon as I got home to tell my hubby that I didn’t make it. I know I drive really well and I am cautious at it.

Well, building up my confidence is all I need to think of right now. I passed the two tests yesterday and the waiting at the DMV was all worth it. It was something new for me compared to my first attempt at getting my license as the law test was all done through the computer. You just have to follow the instruction and operate the touch-screen monitor that generates the questions and choices and checks your answers automatically while in NY it was only the ordinary multiple choice test on a piece of paper and then they manually check it for you. I had skipped at least 4 questions that I wasn’t sure of and then went back to them after answering the rest of the 25 questions. You are only allowed to make 5 misses to pass.

I couldn’t be happier to have made it. Now, I have to prepare for my road test scheduled on the 23rd of October. I have to finish my lesson that we already paid for but had been put off after taking the basics again few months ago. Well, wish me luck. I really want that license so badly!
