A memorable Thanksgiving

We had a good time at Thanksgiving dinner that was hosted by the hubby’s niece. As per usual, she makes an excellent cook. We had turkey, green beans, mashed potato and sweet potato, stuffing and lot of desserts afterward. I really enjoyed the company. I just got exhausted chasing my son whom I didn’t want to get into trouble as he was all over the place. LOL! Well, he had a good time too as he met his cousins again which doesn’t happen a lot. We had a long way to go so we were the first to get out of there. Of course, I didn’t forget my memory cards so I took a bunch of pictures which unfortunately will not be posted here for now. I am just too lazy to do it. I will do it sometime.

Contemplating

The hubby is invited to a dinner on the 3rd of December after a meeting at the PGA. He wants me to go to the cocktail dinner with him. That means we will have to leave our little one at his sister’s to be babysat for at least 3 hours. We’re just hoping he will not be a burden as he can get rambunctious at his age. LOL!

Anyway, I need a dress for that night and I can’t decide what to wear. I might have to do some shopping tomorrow for it. I just couldn’t find anything in my closet that I feel like wearing. I honestly don’t have an idea what the party is going to be like but he told me I need to dress up as it will be a night dedicated to giving an honorary award to his friend who works in the golf business as well. Oh well. I might just settle with a black or purple dress.

On baseball and gloves

When I see baseball gloves it reminds me of the hubby’s favorite baseball team the Boston Red Sox. I actually learned to like baseball, too and root for them during baseball season. I am happy whenever they win. The hubby gets disappointed when they lose like most baseball fanatics are when their favorite team loses. It doesn’t really affect me that much but I can understand why people would be upset for their team. I just find it funny when it also affects your mood all day or all night long when your team didn’t win. Oh well.

I don’t know what to get my hubby for Christmas yet but I have an idea. I might look into shopping at the electronics department to find something we both could get a good use of. I could get us a new GPS perhaps. I saw the news this week telling that it’s a good time to buy one as the prices are going down. There are good GPS these days that are really essential for every car owner that won’t break the bank so they will make good presents, too. That’s an idea, so if you know of someone who wants one, shop now at buy.com! The prices could not be beat.

Wish List: Christmas and Birthday

Last night, I had to update our wish lists for Christmas. I didn’t really have anything in particular that I wanted to get after a relative sent an e-mail informing everybody that due to the economic situation they will not participate on exchanging gifts and would rather only be giving presents to their kids in particular to cut down their expenses. It’s not a bad idea at all especially if you have both sides of the family extended and are used to such tradition. I’m sure they will understand as global crisis is really affecting many families.

Anyway, I kept my son’s wish list updated as he will also be celebrating his 2nd birthday few days after Christmas. He won’t mind getting toys. After all, Christmas is all about the children when it comes to presents. And presents need not be fancy or expensive. It’s about giving no matter the price.

Holiday Eyeglass Frames!

Holidays are in the air and there’s no stopping it. In spite the global crisis and people cutting back on spending, there are ways to preserve the tradition of giving gifts for Christmas and other holidays that connotes buying presents to give to loved ones and the family. Presents are simply material things and what matters most is still the thought of giving without expecting anything in return.

Keeping it simple is more meaningful. Just like getting Holiday frames to your friends or family at ZenniOptical.com. They have all kinds of glasses to choose from that are simply adorable yet affordable. You will never go broke with their unbeatable prices. The person you are giving glasses to will appreciate it anyway.

ZenniOptical offers a huge selection of frames that are great for this season and all year round. I love the designs they have and the colors that are definitely appropriate for the holidays. If I were to get a pair from them I would love to have this one on the photo. You can never go wrong with this place as you will have a lot of choices. And with the prices, simply affordable and definitely a must-have in times like this.

Turkey day is coming!

Thanksgiving is only a sleep away. I can’t wait to see the family tomorrow and enjoy a hearty meal with everybody. I like the fact that the hubby’s niece is hosting the party for this year’s Thanksgiving party as she is a very good cook. In fact, she blogs about food and cooking. She does well at it and I can only wish I have the same talent and skill in the kitchen. Anyway, we are all anxious for Turkey Day, aren’t we? Have a good one you all!

Nothing beats the convenience of having a laptop and a wireless internet connection when you want to work around the house just like what I am doing right now. I am lounging at the same time watching TV while checking the sites I frequent in the comfort of our bedroom. I can’t imagine what life will be without all these things each day. Well, I think I need an extra laptop memory after all these photos and videos that are saved which take most of the spaces in this computer.

We went out at noon today to buy cheese at the nearby farm. There were quite a few customers there but we didn’t have to wait long and got two kinds of cheeses that we will be bringing next week at the Thanksgiving dinner with the rest of the family in NY. The owner was kind enough to tell us to take a peek at the barn where the milking cows are having lunch. Sure enough we saw them quietly feeding on hay. Our son Casey was amazed and watched them for a little while. After that, we decided to drive around town where the hubby wanted me to explore. I was actually impressed at the scenery that I have not seen before since we came here. Anyway, it was a fun day yet cold and windy. Now, I have to get to read about Lipovox reviews.

Something new for shoppers

When I went grocery shopping today, I noticed at the entrance of Stop & Shop a guy with a stand of barcode scanners or wands talking out to shoppers entering the store to use the gadget. I wasn’t really interested as I was more like surprised to see something new in the store just today. I would imagine it’s a great tool to make shopping much faster and easier. I don’t really know what it’s all about but as I had noticed, users can actually scan the bar codes of the items as they shop while the scanners add up the total. And as you go along, you can bag your stuff up yourself and then go to the cashier to pay for it. Well, I wish I had tried it but I would like to know more next time. I have not seen how those shoppers had to checkout though. So, it will be worth finding out on my next shopping schedule.

It might not be a new thing for other people but for me, it is something modern in our grocery store anyway. I just don’t know how efficient this gadget is as you will be holding it the whole time you shop. I would imagine the store also takes extra measure to avoid theft as there would be a tendency to just put your stuff in the bags without scanning them for the total you will be paying for at the end of the shopping spree. I would also imagine that there will be an inspection of some sort or if it happens that a certain item wasn’t scanned as the shopper gets out of the store an alarm will go off. Oh well. I would like to try it to see if it’s something that will work for me.

It is for sure a good tool to shop faster and to avoid traffic at the cashier which happens a lot especially during the holidays. It’s a good timing for Thanksgiving. People were all over the place at the store today.
