Yesterday morning, the hubby told me about what he read on the paper regarding the Philippines. He asked me if I knew that a ferry traveling between Manila and Cebu capsized with about 800 passengers in it. I read the paper to find out the rest of the story. I feel bad for the families of those that are still in the ship and have not been recovered as of that day.
It was too bad that whoever was authorized to let ferries like the MV Princess of the Stars travel on a stormy weather didn’t give it good thought. They actually let it sail in the middle of a typhoon and now many lives are taken away of such tragedy. Yes, we may have no control over natural calamities, but a terrible thing that just happened could have been avoided if only authorities did their job responsibly. They should have known better.

I just learned on the news early this morning that the US President’s daughter Jenna Bush got married to Henry Hager in Texas. I didn’t really follow their story but I have seen them on the news a few times before when they got engaged. As what I’ve heard, a few if not most first daughters of previous presidents got married in the White House while Jenna Bush preferred her wedding by the lake in her father’s ranch. With the security and press-free reception, I guess they had a nice, elegant and grand ceremony all to themselves and to some 200 closest people to the heart of the first family.
I am not really into politics, but I respect other people’s opinions. I only listen and I don’t say anything unless I am asked to say something about certain issues. If someone asks me, does Hillary suck? I think I will leave it up for those who know her very well. I know someone in my family likes her and if I would say she sucks, that wouldn’t be a very smart answer. Besides, the feminists are going to be mad at me.
I am not really into music but Luciano Pavarotti is not a strange name to me. I know he’s got the magnificent voice. I just learned today that Pavarotti died. Such a loss to Italy and entire music world. He is only 71 and yet his condition due to a pancreatic cancer halted his life and successful career. I am watching the news as I am writing this and have heard that he used to be a teacher and an insurance salesman. It’s one of those things we don’t hear everyday, you know. I like his voice and losing such a talent makes a great difference. Well, his time has come and his suffering is over. He sure is in peace now.
