The Daily Matters

While others say they hate vacuuming and cleaning the house in general, I would say vacuuming is a pleasurable task for me. No, I am not a neat freak at all but I find it fulfilling and rewarding after a thorough vacuuming of our carpet to see how clean and well-combed it is all together. It must be the OC (obsessive-compulsive) in me sometimes. I do love the little Monk-ish side of me. Well, if you don’t know Monk, it is an Emmy Award-winning American dramedy series created by Andy Breckman and starring Tony Shalhoub as the title character. I think he needs Dirt Devil for his obsessive-compulsive behavior. He does love to clean his hands a lot with wet wipes so he might as well get a cordless vacuum and bring it with him wherever he goes.

When cleaning his house I would suggest the Dirt Devil since it will not only make his OC life a lot easier and faster, it will also save him energy. If you are familiar with Monk’s character, you know what I mean. He’s one heck of a character, isn’t he? I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t like to have a dog licking any food spill around the house or he will cringe. Just yesterday I did some cleaning and vacuuming is a major task that I enjoy doing. I don’t know why but I find pleasure in it. I guess it’s simply because it takes away the unwanted stuff that no one would see on the floor or carpet other than the cleaning tool itself. Well, it sure isn’t the thing I would like to do more than once a week though. Not that I am lazy, I want to save energy on cleaning too. Who doesn’t want that especially now that everything is going up so high (e.g. gas, electricity, etc.) Nobody can afford to pay a maid to do such a simple task and I am not willing to do that at all.

In practicality, you should have ways to save energy even on your cleaning. As we all need some good appliance or an appropriate gadget for a particular task to make work get done faster and easier, we have to consider one that will also save us some energy. Make a smart choice on your cleaning technology. Nobody wants to avoid cleaning all together or else the ladies in “How Clean Is Your House?” will evade your home for that matter and clean up your mess for you by scouring on your dusty nooks and crannies of the house. I have no idea how those people that get featured on the show like it when others do the cleaning up for them. I bet they are in the ‘hall of shame’ for their families and friends. They should know better by using a Dirt Devil.

Life without a computer is boring. Well, that’s just me and perhaps to those who can’t live without it will surely agree. Although, it makes me stay home most of the time it also hinders my plans of going outdoors. A laptop is portable and it is a must have for travels fortunately. But, I love my desktop too because it has the comfort that a laptop can’t give. Anyway, I might get one later on when I needed something for travel so I don’t have to borrow the hubby’s own. I heard buy.com has some great deals. I would like to get one from them in the near future.

So, I got what I wanted. Here’s my new toy! I was happy to get it yesterday as scheduled. What now? Having this new addition to my problems is sure overwhelming. LOL! It’s one more thing to get into trouble with when it comes to being techie and all. I tell you, there are a lot of things to learn in order to really make good use of this gadget. I have yet to discover the secret. Oh no, I guess there’s no secret after all. It’s about being determined and getting more practice. I sure hope to explore more though.

Until now, my mind isn’t fixed yet on what DSLR camera I am going to get. I know I have been eyeing on that Canon EOS 450D XSi even before it’s available in most stores. Now, I have read more and more and learned from forums and people who have gotten it but I can’t decide yet. I am also tempted at getting the Nikon D80 or the Nikon D60, but I would love to get the features of the new Canon. This is one of those moments that I hate especially having so many choices. I never thought it would take me this long to get something I want. I don’t like situations like these. LOL!

Now, the store where I would want to get the camera doesn’t have it in stock anymore and will be again available for orders some time this month. I think I could still wait, but I also get anxious for some reason to get it real soon. I know it’s available in Amazon.com but I have been drooling on Canon EOS 450D XSi at B&H that I frequent a lot almost everyday before it was even released and waited for a couple of months. Well, well, well, it’s a tough decision for me. Help! I have got to make up my mind soon before another model will come out. I just don’t like the idea that after 350D and 400D, now 450D is on the loose. I bet the 500D is in the making already and will be out in no time. Oh, such a life full of choices!

In the past days or a couple of weeks, I have been baking and cooking new stuff I never tried making before. It somehow interests me especially when I never thought how easy or how time-consuming one thing or another is to prepare. And to think that I have a handful son to attend to, I just am fulfilled and proud of myself to make some edible experiments EDIBLE! I wish I have that camera I long wanted so I could have taken shots of the foods I made for the first time. Soon I will be, since the store that is actually releasing the new model of dslr that I wanted to purchase will start to send their deliveries on Monday. It’s the official day for most stores to actually sell it or release it for that matter to their customers. Anyway, I know it can get more and more expensive to venture into photography with not just the right gadget but rather something that will really make a difference. Enough said, I want it badly and I want that Canon 450D XSi now!
